Gardner Design Thrives in Wichita With Growing National Client List
Published Aug 17, 2009

Graphic designer Bill Gardner is inspired by his hometown.

“Wichita historically has had a high number of great designers per capita‚” says Gardner‚ a Wichita native who was born a block away from where he now lives. “It’s probably one of the most design-advanced cities in the United States based on its population.”

The proof is in the products of internationally acclaimed‚ award-winning Gardner Design‚ which specializes in corporate identity and brand-building.

The firm’s work has been featured in New York’s Museum of Modern Art and in virtually every major industry publication. Clients include Bombardier Learjet‚ Thermos‚ Nissan North America Inc.‚ PepsiCo‚ Pizza Hut‚ the 2004 Athens Olympics‚ Spirit AeroSystems and Kroger.

Because Wichita is centrally located‚ many of these clients are easy to reach‚ which is another reason Gardner is bullish on Wichita.

“It’s easy for us to access clients around the United States from here‚” he says. “We’re halfway in the middle of everything.”

Gardner also co-authored the best selling LogoLounge books and founded the LogoLounge Web site‚ logolounge.com‚ both of which showcase the best logos and top logo designers from around the world. The Web site currently features about 38‚000 logos.
